4-H is a U.S.-based network of youth organizations whose mission is "engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development"

The Art Club is focused on creating unique things. It is a place to have fun and make neat stuff, such as t-shirt tote bags, bird feeders and houses, and clay projects (in the new ceramic studio). There will be two meetings per month. One meeting is to go over the project and the materials and the next meeting is to complete the project. 

The Drama Club exists to foster freedom of expression in a way that embraces all of what it means to be human. We explore the comic, the tragic, the absurd, the beautiful—in short, everything that makes up this messy thing we call humanity. Through plays, sketches, skits, and theatre technology (lighting/sound, etc) the Drama Club, lovingly called the Blackfriars, explore their own humanity as well as the experience shared by us all.

Archbishop Hannan's Campus Ministry program dedicates itself to the task of bringing out in each person those spiritual gifts which lead people towards deeper love of self, others, and God in the building of God's Kingdom. Students are trained to assist in campus liturgies, student retreats and other outside programs. 

The Debate Team is organized for the purpose of improving students' ability to research and organize information, think critically, and speak in public. Team members will learn the basics of argumentation and debate through regular team practices and tournament competitions held in the area. More advanced debaters may also qualify for state and national championship competitions held later in the year. 

Hawks for Life is Archbishop Hannan High School's pro-life club. Our program is
committed to educating both our school and local community about the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Our organization participates in local and national pro-life events.

The purpose of the Honor Council is for a panel of students to help educate students who have violated the academic integrity code at Hannan High School. This allows students to have their side of the story heard by a panel of their peers. The Honor Council will listen, ask questions, and recommend a solution to help these students reflect on different ways to handle the situation in the future. 

The goal of Hannan's liturgical band is to create a prayerful atmosphere for our liturgical services, while at the same time encouraging the student body to find its own voice and join with us in song. Singers and instrumentalists of all ranges and types are welcome. 

The Key Club's vision is to create caring leaders who work to transform communities worldwide. Our mission is to provide our members with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership. Key Club is about helping students develop into caring leaders, but it also about helping others. Communities want their leaders to care about them. 

Mu Alpha Theta is a national math organization that honors students who excel in Math and are interested in service to others. Students must have completed 4 high school semesters of Math and have maintained at least a B average in Math. The students must also provide service to the community, usually in the form of peer tutoring in Math Courses. 

The purpose of the National Honor Society is to recognize those students who exemplify the four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. To be invited to apply for National Honor Society, a student must have a 3.75 GPA, be at least in his/her sophomore year, show a strong dedication to leadership, demonstrate outstanding character, and be committed to service. The National Honor Society coordinates many events throughout the year to promote the four pillars, including tutoring, fundraisers, and service activities. 

Quiz bowl is an academic contest in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, sports, and popular culture. The Hannan Hawk Quiz Bowl team competes at the local and state level and is a member of the Louisiana Association for Academic Competition (LAAC).

Students are engaged in technology and engineering by building and programming Vex Robots. The students meet monthly to write programs and practice for the yearly competitions. The students attend competitions against other schools in the area. 

Sister Hawks is a club for girls and by girls - a safe haven where you can learn more about yourself and the world in which you live. Members participate in community service projects and enjoy a close fellowship with one another. 

Spanish Honor Society is a national and international organization designed to recognize students with high achievement in Spanish courses. Students will expand on cultural experiences, take field trips to enhance classroom education, practice using language in a fun and entertaining environment, and further build on their Spanish Language foundation.

The Hannan TableTop group, also known as the Gamers Guild, gathers weekly at lunch to play a variety of board and card games.

Smash Fridays: students meet to play 8 player games on SMARTBoard at lunch on Fridays during quarters 1,2, & 4.

The Science National Honor Society (SNHS) recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in encouraging and recognizing scientific and intellectual thought. These students work to advance the students within the schools knowledge of classical and modern science. The members communicate with the scientific community, aid the civic community with its comprehension of science while encouraging students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.

Hannan’s Reading Club is open to all students from 8^th to 12^th grade who enjoy reading. We meet once a month to discuss the title that we’ve read, and of course to enjoy some snacks. We will also discuss titles for the following month’s read, and the club as a whole will vote on the selection. Reading Club is a great way to meet new friends through our love for books!

Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Any accredited public or private high school can apply for a local chapter, through which individuals will be inducted into Rho Kappa Honor Society.

The Hannan Intramural Sports Program provides an opportunity for students of all grade levels to participate in recreational activities to promote school spirit. Under faculty supervision, leagues are formed for games that can include ultimate frisbee, 3-on-3 basketball, dodgeball, as well as other possibilities throughout the year. In each sport, teams compete against each other in games held during the lunch period.

The Faces of Archbishop Hannan High School

Archbishop Hannan Student Ambassadors are a group of students dedicated to the positive promotion of Archbishop Hannan High School. They work as liaisons between the Archbishop Hannan community and prospective students. Visible at a variety of school events, they provide an important resource for prospective students and families. Student Ambassadors develop their skills in communication, public relations, marketing and interpersonal relations.

Ambassador Expectations

• Attend monthly meetings and training sessions
• Provide campus tours
• Participate in grade school visits
• Host prospective students
• Welcome visitors to the school
• Represent the school at outside events

Membership Requirements

A student in grades 9-12 shall be permitted to seek membership. Students shall automatically qualify as a Student Ambassador if they:

• Meet the application deadlines and requirements
• Are a second year student
• Have maintained a 4.0 and higher cumulative GPA
• Are clear of any major disciplinary sanctions
• Receive a total of 75 points in teacher recommendations
