Golf - Coed Varsity
Overview
Archbishop Hannan has both a boy's and a girl's golf team.
Last year's boys team advanced to the state competition where one of the golfers, Nick Daniel finished second in the state in his Division. Daniel is now playing collegiate golf at Louisiana Tech on scholarship.
The girl's team had four players and missed the cut at the Regional meet by one stroke and did not advance to the state playoff competition in Lafayette.
Both teams have competed in two of the last three years at the state playoff competition and the team is looking to build on that foundation of success.
Practice Information
Because golf is a year-long sport under LHSAA rules, informal practice will begin in mid-September and will continue sporadically through January.
Informal practice will occur two of three times per week. Formal matches and practices will begin the first day in February. Starting in February the team will practice or have matches three or four times per week, Monday through Thursday. Occasionally, the team may practice Friday or Saturday due to weather. All players are encouraged to practice on their own outside of the team's existing practice schedule. The team's home course for practices and matches is Tchefuncte Country Club.
